Bedbugs are small insects that are oval-shaped and brownish in color. They survive by feeding on the blood of animals and human beings. Mature bugs have flat bodies, which swell up and turn reddish after they feed in blood. Although these insect do not fly, they can move very fast on walls, ceilings, and floors. This allows them to hide virtually anywhere in the house and can be very had to locate. Here are facts regarding Toronto Bedbug Treatment.

A female adult lays hundreds of eggs throughout their whole life. It is very hard to see these eggs through the naked eye since they are usually the size of a speck of dust. Nymphs are bugs that are yet to mature. Nymphs usually need to shed their skin five times so that can reach maturity. They can only shed their skin after feeding on blood.

If the surrounding conditions are suitable, the insects only take a month to reach maturity. In a single year, a mature bug can reproduce as many as four generations of young bugs. From this, it is clear that even a single bug can cause a serious infestation in less than a year. These insects create a lot of inconvenience, but till today no diseases are known to be transmitted by them.

Like stated earlier, this insects can hide anywhere in the house. They usually enter a home undetected when owners carry them into the house on their clothing, couches, luggage, or beds among other items. They can fit into small spaces. They can be found in mattresses, bed frames, headboards, box springs among others. Bugs feed solely on blood and their presence is not an indication of a dirty house.

These insects are nocturnal which means they are more active at night. They have elongated beaks for sucking biting and sucking blood. They need to suck blood around three to ten times for them to be satisfied. They usually do this unnoticed. Their bite is usually painless at first but they grow itchy with time.

An invasion of the bedbugs can be indicated by a number of signs. Most often when one wakes up to itchy spots that were absent before going to bed, it can be a red light that an infestation exists. Some of the other signs include, an unpleasant smell in the house, fecal spots, stains on bedding, and shed skin.

If the infestation is small, one may treat it by cleaning curtains, clothing, bedding and other laundry using warm water. The drying of the laundry should be done on the highest dryer setting. Mattress seams should be scrubbed using stiff brush to remove bugs. Frequent vacuuming is also necessary. In case there are any cracks on the walls and floors, they should be repaired.

However, in case of a large infestation then one will need to hire the services of a professional bedbug eradicator. These professionals usually conduct an inspection in order to establish the level of infestation in the house before they begin treatment. They employ the use of highly developed methods and skills to deal with infestation.
