Have clear goals in life and put all effort towards achieving them. It is said that having no destination means that any road can take you there. Unfortunately, you will be too lost by the time you recognize that it is time to return. With a goal, you direct all your resources, time, energy and activity towards achieving these goals. The challenges you encounter will not discourage you but instead motivate you to pursue your goals.

Develop a mechanism for diffusing the pressure you encounter every day. There are tough choices and options every day. You can employ such tricks as building a community that can help you relieve pressure, taking up hobbies and engaging in exercises, among other tricks.

Find inner peace regardless of the situation you are facing. The world is always sending tough situations your way. People will also cause you to snap. You must find an activity, place or person who helps you find that inner peace. It ensures that you do not succumb even when the situation is extremely tough.

Be comfortable with saying NO in some situations. This is a difficult decision that also requires skills because you might offend some people. It is impossible to say yes to all invitations and requests. You end up spreading yourself too thin and failing to fulfill your responsibilities. Only assign time and resources to issues that are within your set goals.

Prepare adequately for emergencies. You must have money set aside for emergencies because they will definitely come. Have an account with your expenses for several months. Sickness, a disaster or even loss of job may befall you unexpectedly. You need a way to survive as you get back to your feet. People, family and different professionals form part of your emergency measures. They will have your back when things get tough.

Create a strong social network around you. There is a lot of pressure in life and situations that do not require finances but the presence of people. It is also these people who will alert you of the next opportunity that might change your life. Share your good moments with these friends and allow them to lift you up when something unfortunate happens. The network should be made of family, friends, colleagues and associates who understand your journey in life.

Learn to adapt and take on life at it comes. It is impossible to escape change. Any such attempt will leave you crushed. While you prepare, you must take what comes your way and modify it to suit your situation. This does not mean that you compromise on cardinal principles like diligence, hard work and loyalty, among others. Above everything, you must find a way to escape tough or delicate situations without injuries.
