Protect And Tan At The Same Time

By Haywood Hunter

Sun bathing is often done not only for the warmth but also for that bronze or golden glow on the skin. There are several product choices like sun screen, sun block, and sunblock tan. Choosing the right one so that on can enjoy the sun safely Can be overwhelming. The right SPF in a sunblock tan and other product is not understand and which ones enhance or block a tan. Also, within one kind of product like sunblock tan products, there are a number of options.

Being clear on sunblock tan products and other protective products will enable one to choose appropriately. A key factor is SPF or sun protection factor. It ranges from 2, 15, 30, 45 and even higher. It stands for the time it would take skin that has no form of sun shield to start reacting for instance by going red or peeling.

If for instance, it would take 20 minutes for a reaction to start, wearing a sunblock tan or other product with an SPF factor of 15 enables one to safely stay in the sun for 15 times longer or 5 more hours without getting sun burnt. A greater SPF in the sunblock tan or other product offers more protection but minimally so, about 2 to 5 percent more.

Accordingly a sunblock tan or other defensive item with a higher SPF than 15, for example, 30 just offers little augmentations of extra security. It is imperative to take note of a higher SPF offers security for somewhat more, yet not more grounded assurance. While SPF is the all inclusive estimation of UVB insurance, no practically identical standard exists for UVA.

The way a sunblock tan, sunscreen or sun block work is also often not well understood. Sunscreens chemically absorb rays whereas sun block will physically deflect them. Sunscreens can block out UVB completely but not UVAs. However, improvements are constantly being made so they offer better protection. The same is being done with sun blocks so they can shield against UVA and UVB.

Sunblock tan gets the skin tanned while protecting it. A sunblock tan is in effect a combination of tanning agents and sunblock. They come as creams, sprays and lotions. There is a choice of shades from light, in between and dark as made by different manufacturers. It is healthier to use a sunblock tan to get a tan instead of spending so much time in the sun.

A sunblock tan in a tanning booth or bed. Some are meant specifically to be used to tan indoors. These have the right SPF for sun sensitive skin. There are those meant to tan outdoors and they should not be mixed with those to be used indoors., An indoor sunblock tan also keeps skin moisturized so it tans faster and without drying out.

While going after that luscious glow, go the extra mile with particularly sensitive skin like the cheeks and nose. Use a sunblock with higher SPF on such areas. Used as required, a sunblock tan gets one glowing like a sun god or goddess. It will ensure the skin does not get dried out in the process. Most importantly, it will do so safely so that one is covered against risks of skin damage and possible serious consequences like skin cancer.
