Importance Of Lawn Spraying And Fertilization Jensen Beach

By John Scott

Most individuals may consider lawn tending as a project of vanity but in real sense processes such as fertilizing and regular spraying contributes to the general outlook of lawns. Grass tending allows inhabitants a better exterior space to relax as well as enhancing life quality through comfort and other relative advantages. Lawn spraying and fertilization Jensen beach is important for maintenance and appearance purposes.

However, fertilization is a cognitive process that involves several steps such as selection, timing, purchase and application. Timing is a crucial factor when boosting grass with essential elements. It is commonly known that spring is the ideal period of boosting plants with nutrients. Homemade tonics can be applied to arouse grass growth in spring. The overall condition of the lawn plants determines the ideal time of fertilization as well as applying chemicals.

Additionally, the dispersion of chemicals is made necessary by the presence of weed rooted in the midst of the compound. Examples of weeds include oxalis, blackjack and Mexican marigold. Through application of weed sprays, weeds can be eliminated through burning or suffocation. Weed in plantations pose a challenge for plants in regards to nutrient competition as well as harbourage of pests. Therefore regular eradication of weeds in grass compounds is necessary to enhance maximum care.

When applying fertilizer for plantations, it is advisable to follow instructions on the package. Experts advise that it is better if less is applied frequently rather than heavy application which could result to sever burning of the tuff grass. However, in case over application has occurred and the grass has not died, it is recommended that excess water is applied to the plants in question to avoid burning. Additionally, even spreading of the fertilizer is advised for best results.

The ideal time of spray application is right before fertilization to avoid waste of nutrients. Preparation steps involved in fertilization include selection of appropriate fertilizer, determination of plantation size, timing of application and testing of soil to gauge required elements.

Excess nutrients such as nitrogen can lead to excess shoot and leaf growth and retarded root development not forgetting reduced tolerance for environmental factors and added susceptibility to plant diseases. Some amount of nitrogen is releases into the soil by decomposed organic matter. However the amount availed by organic matter is insufficient for optimum plant growth. Therefore, quick release forms of nitrogen such as ammonium nitrate and urea are useful to enhance grass growth and tuff grass color.

Fertilizers containing quick release nitrates are relatively more expensive compared to slow release nitrate fertilizers such as Sulphur coated urea. Slow release nitrates are ideal for soils that are sandy since they are more susceptible to loss through leaching. Apart from nitrogen, phosphorous is another essential element necessary for enhancing grass vigor as well as promotion of early root development. Application of phosphate fertilizers is only necessary during seeding especially during the first year of grass development

Application procedures depend on the size of the grass compound and the instructions availed by the manufacture on the package. There are several modes of fertilizer applications such as broadcasting and the drop style. Selection of either depends on the area size and ease of method. Dispersing chemicals and also fertilization are both important practices for lawn care and maintenance.
